GLENMORANGIE LEGENDS HIGHLAND THE DUTHAC

The Duthac is part of the Glenmorangie Legends series. It's aged in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in a combination of ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and charred virgin oak casks.

The Distillery
Glenmorangie is one of those distilleries that every whiskey lover must have tasted. Its image as an essential classic with well-established references in the landscape nevertheless hides an acute and permanent concern for innovation. Many things can explain the success and quality of Glenmorangie malts. Its water, very hard and very mineralized, having traveled through particularly calcareous soils, contradicting the widespread idea that fresh water from granite soils would be the only one suitable for brewing and distillation. Its stills, of unequaled height (5.14m, the size of an adult giraffe!), which promote prolonged contact of the vapors with the copper, and a condensation of only the most ethereal vapors. But it is undoubtedly in the considerable work on the wood that lies the secret of the whiskey distilled by the men of Tain, in the North of Scotland. At the heart of the reactor, Dr. Bill Lumsden.
